Virtual reality really exploded into our lives in 2016; that year, we were plagued by videos of families on Christmas morning wearing their VR headsets for the first time and ultimately running into a wall, falling over, hitting someone by mistake, or giving themselves vertigo. It was a great time, and it made us all desperate to try out these new-on-the-block headsets that promised so much.
Years later, VR gaming is still hugely popular; consoles have become more accessible (thanks to the price coming down), and more people are able to try it out thanks to arcades and VR gaming centres.
A lot of standard games now are compatible with VR headsets, but the games made especially for the headsets are like something out of a futuristic movie. They trick your brain into thinking you’re somewhere you’re not, put you into another universe, and ultimately give the user access to a world that gamers back in the 90’s could only have ever dreamed of.
VR gaming is the ultimate way to “switch off,” and whilst many users report needing to take breaks due to complete disorientating immersion and even feeling motion sickness, this way of gaming is the future, and we can only expect better results, better experiences, and more insane features as time goes on.
Whilst I personally do think that VR gaming still has a little while to go before it becomes something we all use and reach for, there’s no denying that it is a lot of fun, and these spectacular games that I have compiled below will make your VR gaming experience even more legendary.
