Rollercoaster tycoon has to be one of my all time favorite games ever. I have spent hours of my life perfecting my theme parks. Underground theme parks, rainy parks, wealthy parks, quiet parks, baby ride parks, roller coaster parks, parks with a lot of death, parks where people starve…you name it I have done it.

It’s such a fun game but there are alternatives to enjoy. Games just like rollercoaster tycoon are out there and just waiting to be played so, let’s take a look at some of my favorites!

Zoo Tycoon

Of course the first on the list has to be zoo tycoon. You can buy the expansion pack for rollercoaster tycoon 3 and have this included but the game on its own is just as fun.

You build up the animals shelters, import and export them. Feed them, keep them happy and even make sure they don’t escape. It’s a big job looking after polar bears and lions all within 4 feet of one another, trust me.

This is some gameplay of the PC game. The way you build and customize is extremely similar to roller coaster tycoon, so if you’re a fan of that you are guaranteed to love this.

Big Pharma

Big pharma is a strategic tycoon game that allows your to run your own pharmaceutical company. You decide what to create and what diseases to cure. Some medicines and cures earn a lot less or a lot more than others and the power is entirely in your hands.

Compete with other pharmaceutical companies to be the best. Work your way up from the bottom to become the Florence Nightingale of this generation…(through video games of course).

Game Dev Tycoon

Game dev tycoon allows you to start your own gaming company set in the 80’s. Grow your business from designing your own games and building yourself up in the gaming industry by growing your fans and your business.

Start small but dream big. Be strategic, manage your money and company well and excel in the hardest to crack industry in the world.

Design your games how you want to, decide the device they can be played on and launch them into the world and become the best.

Sim City

Another one of my absolute favorites. Sim city is a game you can play for hours and hours at a time a not get bored of. I find that sim city is a lot easier to play every day than sims is. I have to be in the right mood to play the sims but SimCity is so alluring.

You get to create a city however you like. Big or small, polluted or wind-powered, education or skate parks, the choice is yours. You do everything a good mayor should do…or not. It’s just so much fun to play as you get to do literally everything. You don’t have control of just one character like you do in the sims, you’re in control of the whole well being of the city!

NoLimits 2

NoLimits is a rollercoaster game where it allows you to build and create your own coasters using the same software that actual coaster engineers use. Once you have built your custom ride, you can now feel the real life authentic thrill of actually riding it.

The possibilities are endless as you can create whatever you want and as far as your imagination will let you. There is no park management involved but building the world’s best roller coasters and then enjoying them is something like no other.

Also, the new update allows you to play it in VR!

Thrillville

Build and ride your own creations, complete missions, play 34 mini-games and create some of the most terrifying coasters out there.

Make money, interact with your guests and customize almost anything. There’s also many different parks and scenarios to explore and it’s a lot more interactive than a lot of tycoon games. People believe Thrillville to be on a par with roller coaster tycoon however that choice is yours!

Train Fever

Train fever is a business simulation game where you manage and establish a transport company. Fulfill what is asked of you, such as building stations and up to date trains and vehicles. Starting in 1850 so you do have to work your way up…

Create a mega business by creating the best, listening to the people and doing things correctly. Don’t come in at a loss and always keep your profits up. An awesome game for people who love business simulation and running successful businesses.
